Cannot establish static routes inside LAN
Hello everybody!
My network topology consists on 3 subnets: 192.168.40.0/24, 192.168.41.0/24 and 192.168.42.0/24. My router TP-LINK Archer C9 is the default gateway of 40.0 network to the Internet. A certain device connected to this netwok with IP address 192.168.40.5 has two additional network interfaces which are both the default gateways of 41.0 and 42.0 networks. This is a "small text picture" to clarify the scenario:
-----------> Interface 1
- (192.168.41.0/24)
- 192.168.41.1
-
Internet <---> Archer C9 <------------------> Device <------
(192.168.40.0/24) 192.168.40.5 -
192.168.40.1 -
-
---------> Interface 2 <------------------> Target
(192.168.42.0/24) 192.168.42.22
192.168.42.1
The idea is to route all trafic from any device which is connected at 40.0 network to both 42.0 and 42.0 networks, going through Archer C9 and Device with address 192.168.40.5. In order to make this happen, I placed the following entries in the Archer C9 static routing table:
However, this entries do not have any effect on the network! If I look at the System Routing Table, at the same page, there is no trace of these static routes:
As a final test, I tried to PING 192.168.42.22 device from Archer C9. This is the result (ROUTE IS NOT ESTABLISHED):
Why Archer C9 router is not establishing both routes? Any idea?
Many thanks!
