Remote management
Hello
I am trying to remotely manage an adsl router.
I am using the adsl router TD-W8961N in bridge mode and assigning a different ip than the default (192.168.1.1) to 192.168.200.10.
I added in the access list a rule to allow all from wan also.
I have network (192.168.200.0/24) to the lan part behind the DSL modem and can access any computer in this range but can't access the ip on the interface LAN on the router itself.
Any help please.
Thanks.

Hi,
What is the current network topology?
FYI, in bridge mode, there is no IP address and other advanced features, it is used to sync the DSL connection only.
Please tell us the current operation mode of the router and the current internet IP address.
Note: If it is a private IP address, you cannot access it remotely unless you opened the port for on the front-end device.
May it help and have a nice day.

the current network topology is:
DSLAM connected to adsl router. the dsl router is in bridge mode then all newtwork behind dsl mode should be layer 2 network right.
I have pc connected to the dsl router whic is pingable and this pc can access the ip interface of the router and can manage it(192.168.200.10). The pc has IP 192.168.200.11.
I have another pc connected to the data (LAN) port of dslam through switch and can ping to the pc (192.168.200.11) behind the dsl bridge modem but can't ping the ip 192.168.200.10.
Thanks

Hi,
If the DSL router works in bridge mode, do you have any other router?
Is it your network topology-- Dslam--8961n(brigde mode)--host router? If not, please correct me.
Please login to the web interface of the 8961N and show me a screenshot of the status page.
Note: How to login: https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/114/
Thanks in advance, and have a nice day.

I changed the ip to 192.200.200.177 I have PC connected to LAN port of the dsl with IP 192.200.200.178 which I can reach to it from anywhere in my network but I can't neither ping or access the LAN IP (192.200.200.177) of the ADSL modem.
I have other brands ADSL modems with same bridge mode and I can access the LAN ip of the modem.

Hi,
As you know, the 8961N works as a bridge mode and the WAN IP shows N/A; so it cannot be access remotely.
For the computer connected to it, cause the current DHCP server is disabled, the computer cannot obtain an IP address from the 8961N, that is why you cannot ping it.
Considering you changed its LAN IP to 192.200.200.177, you can setup a static IP for your computer, IP is 192.200.200.x, x cannot be 177; after that, you can try to ping the DSL modem and test whether it works.
Note: How to setup static IP address: https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/14/
May it help and have a nice day.

I have no problem with the computer connected to the dsl modem it is working and I already assigned a static IP on it.
The problem is that I can't access the LAN IP of the dsl Modem from any other side on the layer 2 network. I can access it only from the LAN side where the computer is assigned the static ip. But I want to access it from the dslam network or from another dsl bridge modem. I have other dsl modems and are configured as bridge also but I can access the firewall and allow to accept icmp and web protocol to the dsl modem from the wan side (through the dsl).

Hi,
From the picture, the modem router works as a bridge mode, so that you cannot use the remote management.
You setup static IP for your computer to access internet, it has nothing to do with the 8961N.
When it works as a bridge, it is just used to sync the DSL connection and connect your computer to it by wired cable to get internet with static IP.
May it help and have a nice day.
