Hi,

We totally understand your feeling, both of us want to sort it out.

May I know the distance between your device and the C4000?

Did you try to move it closer  to the main router and fresh the wifi list? Can you see the 2.4GHz then?

Good day.

I am just sitting infront of the router, as i have said, starting there is 2.4Ghz, i didn't chance any setting and out of sudden 2.4Ghz is not broadcasting, occasionally can see the signal and then drop. For 5Ghz everything is good. I even use Wifi analysis app and see sometime can see the signal, sometime disappear.

Thanks for your valued reply.

What is the serial number of the C4000?  When and where did you buy this router and do you have any proof of purchase?

One more thing, what is the model number of your client devices? Like iPhone X/8 or so.

Look forward to your reply.

Good day.

Hi Kevin

I have the same problem. I have AC1200/Archer VR400, brand new, I installed it yesterday and both 2.4GHz & 5GHz SSIDs were visible and worked fine. Today the 2.4GHz SSID was not visible. On the wirless/basic page of the router management console, both bands were enabled. But on the Network/basic page the 2.4GHz was in orange, and the 5GHz in blue. I did two factory resets, one via the button on the back, and one via the management console - nothing changed. I was on Channel 6 with the bandwidth set to Auto.

I have tried switching channels and setting the bandwidth to 20MHz with mixed results, on some channels the SSID is visible (I'm using a wi-fi analyser on my phone). When the bandwidth is set to auto, Channels 2-5,6,8?, 9-10 aren't visible, but channels 1,7,8?,11-13 are visible. When the bandwidth is set to 20MHz, Channels 4 &6 don't show, but all the rest do.

I am currently using Ch12 Bandwidth 20MHz and I can watch youtube on my Dell XPS13 Win 10 laptop & my Android Pixel phone.

What is causing this problem?

Router:

Firmware Version:0.2.0 0.9.1 v0070.0 Build 170719 Rel.63031n

Hardware Version:Archer VR400 v2 00000000

Hi,

The 2.4GHz was in orange and 5GHz in blue won't affect the performance, it is to verify them by putting them in different colors.

Back to your case, that is a little weird, it is suggested to grab more wireless devices to do a comparison analysis, whether they can detect the 2.4GHz normally.

Besides, after you change the channel and channel width, you can take some time to make it reboot and refresh the wifi list on client devices to check whether you can see the SSID.

Any updates, please let us know.

@Kevin_Z Hi, I am having this exact same issue as quite a few others here, and it's a good 7 months later. I am on the latest firmware as well. Was this ever resolved? What instructions did you email the previous commenter?

@Danize  I had the same issue recently. So they way I fix it was to turn off WiFi from the button on the modem. Wait a few seconds then turn on the  WiFi from the button on the modem again.  After that do off and in the modem.

Hope this works for you.
