Our powerline device which sold on the market are compatible with each other. Because you have the TL-WPA4220KIT, so if you want to buy a wireless extender, I'm suggest the TL-WPA4220. If you just need the wired adapter, you can buy the AV500 device, like the TL-PA4010, TL-PA4020 etc. https://www.tp-link.com/en/products/list-18.html?filterby=4891&page=1

Ok, I've buyed one wpa4220 but when I try to pair nothing happen. The new one after some seconds of power blinking go back to fix meanwhile the master remain in blink mode till i don't press again the pair button.

I've try to see by tpPlc but it don't see the new one.

Connected the new one to an hub I've seen the configuration and there are 2 strange things:

1) in status page my old wpa4220 has this firmware version: 1.2.9 Build 160525 Rel.35241n  MAC-QCA7420-1.3.0.2134-00-20151212-CS PIB_422091_160421_003

new one has 1.2.9 Build 160525 Rel.35241n BootLoader

2) in powerline network setting the new one has mac address 00-00-00-00-00-00

Any ideas to solve it?

Thanks in advance

Max

Hi,

What is the current light status of the powerline adapters? Especially the new one.

And below is the instruction to pair them manually:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/258/

Note: Please move them into the same room and plug into the wall sockets directly to pair them; besides, the power led will flash once you hit the pair button for 1s.

Besides, you can reset the powerline adapters and re-pair them again.

May it help and have a nice day.

Light status of new TL-WPA4220(EU) is:
Power on = ON
powerline = off
lan = ON if I plug to my pc OFF otherwise
wifi =blinking

Light status of old TL-WPA4220(EU) is:
Power on = ON
powerline = ON
lan = ON if I plug to my pc OFF otherwise
wifi =blinking

Light status of TL-PA4010b is
Power on = ON
powerline = ON
lan = ON

I've followed the procedure to pair and also to reset and to pair again but doesn't work at all.
If I plug the new, from tpPLC I lost connection with old one...
In some forum I've read that it depend from firmware but I can't find one for have the same of old WPA4220

Thanks in advance for any help
Best regards
Max

Hi,

The new 4220 has powerline led off, that is why it does not work.

Please plug the new 4220 and the 4010P into the same room and plugged into the wall sockets directly, after that, try to pair them manually.

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/258/

Note: Please ensure that the power light flashes once you press the pair button for 1s.

Good day.

Hi Kevin,

I agree with you that powerline led off mean that is not paired but,

if I try to pair the 4010P remain in blink meanwhile the 4220 after a couple of second from blink go to stable on

if I try to see 4220 from tpPLC is not viewed

if I try to add it by key, tpPLC says that can't add it

I have followed all the guide from tp-link and I have also compared both 4220 and the only difference is the firmware and that new one don't has mac address on Powerline page..

Best regards

Max

Hi Max,

Have you ever tried to move them into the same room and plug them into the wall sockets directly to pair them?

Meanwhile, you can reset all the 3 adapters and re-add them via the tpPLC utility and give it a shot.

Any updates, please let us know.
