MR200 4G Router SIM phone number accessable by connected devices?

The phone number for my 4G SIM was somehow signed up for a scam subscription service charging £3 per week. I've only discovered this after 4 months because I don't check the text messages through the routers interface. The SIM never gets removed from the router.
How could this have been possible? Can connected devices get access to the SIM's phone number?
