New Samsung A53 can't connect stable to Wifi on Deco X60, connection keeps dropping
I bought a replacement phone for my Samsung Galaxy S8, the new Galaxy A53 5G. Already out of the box performing the installation I couldn't get a connection to my Wifi Mesh network (Deco X60). Once in a while it did actually connect but not for long and when disconnected it often coulnd't reconnect again. After being very patient I finally made it through the whole setup process, but the connections still dropped.
On my S8 (still works fine apart from battery life) I have no problems at all. Also my wife's phone (S9) and my 4 daughters (S8 and 3 diffferent Iphones) experience no problems with the wifi whatsoever. All the other objects (Smart-tv, e-reader, Chromecasts, etc) work fine as do my work-laptop and my wife's. We've got the Deco X60 Mesh network running since august 2021.
Of course I tried to find out what it could be, so I ran a lot of tests, trying ever 'switch' in the settings. Because I thought my new phone was the problem I even reset it to factory default and reran the whole setup again, but still the same problem. Eventually I set up a second wifi-network with my old router and to my surprise I had no problems connecting to that wifi at all. The new A53 isn't the problem, its wifi works fine and fast (run several tests) but the connection to my Deco X60 is the problem.
I've posted this same problem on the Samsung Members forum, and a guy told me to post my problem here for he has had the exact same problem and an alternative Firmware version was the solution for him. So hopefully it will work for me to. Where can I get such alternative firmware?

I am also experiencing these same issues connecting my new a53 with deco x20.
Thanks for the suggested temporary fix, but as others have said not ideal long term due to low speeds and when it comes to casting content from my phone to TV which will not work as they will be connected to separate networks.
Sounds like you have narrowed the issue down to a samsung fault. What should we be doing as next steps to get a proper solution?

Same problem here with A53 in combination with Deco X60. Tried the Guest network on 2.4 but rather slow, so just temp solution. Have not tried other WiFi networks yet.
I have 3 X60 with firmware 1.5.1. next to it are 2 M4R with version 1.5.4, but mainly used 'outside'

@David-TP I have 3 DecoX20 and they worked perfect with my Samsung S20+. I could move around my house and the connection was always perfect. Now ive purchased a Z Fold 4 and everything is terrible. My cellphone only connects to one Deco and when i move around instead of connecting to the other Decos it looses the Wi-Fi.

I have the same with Galaxy A53 and Deco X60. A53 can only connect to the main Deco, not the two slave Decos. If you disable 5 GHz or security encryption then it can connect to all Decos without problems but that is definitely not a proper solution to the problem.

I updated to android 13 but still have the problem that on the 5ghz wifi the connection drops to 6mbps or disconnects.
The 2,4ghz wifi works fine
So for me it is not solved
