DHCP start & end ip is kinda weird default?
Hi there,
In the deco app I see start ip 192.168.68.50 and end ip 192.168.71.250
Is there a reason why this is like this way?
Shouldn't this be start 192.168.68.1 and end ip 192.168.68.99 instead?
No some of my devices have an ip 192.168.68.XX and some have 192.168.71.XX
Should I change it to my suggestion?
Do I need to reboot the system after this change?
regards

@Frederiek It should be 192.168.68.100 to 192.168.68.250 (or something similar to it)
Quite sure 192.168.68.1 is the IP of main Deco.
Did you try to change it manually? Do you have more than one model of Deco?

@ImtiazAli thanks for your anwser :-)
192.168.68.1 is indeed the ip of the main unit.
I have 3 X BE85s in my house since today.
Yes I can manually change the IPs of the dhcp, should I do it?
192.168.68.50 to 192.168.68.250 is OK?
I really don't know why it are different ranges default in the app, why is that?
Do I need to reboot afterwards the system?
Regards and thanks again!

I am guessing, you have had WiFi router before you added Deco mesh, and that router provides IP addresses in 192.168.71.* range. After adding Deco mesh, you should turn off WiFi on that WiFi router, so that all wireless devices connect to Deco mesh only.
If you have wired devices connected to WiFi router, connect them to Deco nodes instead.
Then, everything will have IPs from 192.168.68.* range.
An alternative option is to configure Deco mesh to run in Access Point mode: Switching a Deco to Access Point (AP) Mode
This will force all devices receive IP addresses from WiFi router, they all will be from 192.168.71.* range.

@Alexandre. hey!
Yes I have a modem from my ISP but the ip range for that device is 192.168.2.XX
The wifi of that modem is disabled and all traffic from my devices at home are routed through the BE85 main unit.
I have no clue why there were different ranges in my app... I've change it now to 192.168.68.50 to 192.168.68.250 and rebooted the system.
All my devices now have the ip 192.168.68.XX
Still kinda weird it used 2 different ranges... Thank god I'm a bit techy, others would already have send back the system to the shop :D
Regards
Frederiek

Hi, Nice to see you again.
You could start checking the subnet mask under Deco APP>More>Advanced>LAN IP first.
If the subnet mask is 255.255.252.0, your LAN IP range would be 192.168.68.1-192.168.71.255.
Usually, the satellite Deco units will start getting IP addresses from 71. xxx(the end of the DHCP range to avoid IP conflict). Most mobile devices will get an IP address starting from 68. xxx.
You could change the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0 so that the LAN IP l will be limited to 192.168.68.0-68.255.
Thank you very much and best regards.
