Model: Deco XE5300
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.5

After a painful process of trying to swap in my new XE5300 for older X60 - the instructions did not go well - so cleared everything and started from -0- and got it working fine.

My question is, I would like to change my subnet from a 192.168.68.x (default) to a 10.x.x.x.  This is under advanced and involves changing the LAN IP and the DHCP Server settings, they are on 2 different screens.  The problem I ran into was that if you change LAN IP and Subnet first, you get an inconsistent set of network values and can't talk with the unit to change the DHCP server settings to match the new subnet.  Drove me nuts!  Had to clear everything and start over.

I know I did this on my old X60, but how do you change these so you don't get into an inconsistent state?  You cannot change DHCP first as the old Default Gateway shows and doesn't match up, so you can't save it.

What gives?

  @SMRTech

Thanks for the feedback.

I tested my side and after chaning LAN IP to 192.168.68.1/255.255.252.0 to 10.0.0.1/255.255.252.0, it saved first and then when I came back to DHCP server and  the IP pool now automatically changed to  10.0.0.50-10.0.3.250 by default and I can change it again to 10.0.0.2-10.0.0.250.

So I wonder you mentioned that "you get an inconsistent set of network values and can't talk with the unit to change the DHCP server settings to match the new subnet." What do you mean "inconsistent"? any chance that you could save a video clip for me?

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

  @SMRTech Thanks, this makes sense and I assumed it would work this way.  I say inconsistent because

when I tried this as part of the main Deco setup, I changed the LAN IP and was immediately disconnected

via Wifi and could not rejoin.  So I assumed it got inconsistent, but I will try again now that things are fully

setup.  Must have ben me.

  @SMRTech OK this is fixed and working right now, I just didn't give the network and IP a change to reset and reconnected, but it worked fine as you described.  My bad, thanks!
