Archer MR600(EU) V1 - BETA Firmware - Allowing selection of 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually
Hi all,
Following the long thread on the same subject discssing the BETA FW, as I said I would, TPLink have given me permission to share the FW download llink.
From TPLink - We recently released a beta firmware for Archer MR600(EU) V1 which can allow us to select 4G+bands for Archer MR600 manually.
https://static.tp-link.com/2020/202004/20200420/Archer_MR600v1_1.1.0_0.9.1_[200417-rel75138]_up_boot_2020-04-20_08.44.31.zip
For Archer MR600, if you want to use its 4G+network, your SIM card should support the CA bands group Archer MR400 supports. Please check the attached picture and check if your SIM card supports the band groups on the list or not.
They asked me to state that, this BETA FW is for the Archer MR600(EU) V1 ONLY!
Neither TPLink nor me take any respnsbility if you flash a none-EU router.

@darant Hi everybody
Hello everybody
I also have an MR600 for 2 months now and I am generally very happy with it.
I am about 900m as the crow flies from the relay antenna and I pick up the banders B3, B7 and B28. By cons the modem connects systematically to B3 and B7 but never on the B28. I get 156Mbits / s in Download and only 5 Mbits / sec in upload.
https://www.speedtest.net/result/9508661323
On the other hand, my phone is always on the B28 which has much higher upload speeds than the B3 and B7 combined.(Ping is better with B28)
So this update to choose the band will be really too cool for me.
First of all I would like to know if this firmware works on an MR600 in France?
If yes, is it possible to easily revert to the old firmware?
Thank you in advance for your answers.
Ayoros

I still don't undersand how the MR600 chose the bands when Band select is not active...
If I select B7+3 (4G+), DN is 20Mps and UP is 10Mbps, but if switch off Band select,
it switches to B3 only (4G): DN is 2,8Mbps and UP is 3,4Mbps...
In the morning, I selected B20+3 (4G+): DN 22Mbps and UP 11Mbps.
In the afternoon, the router can't connect to B20, then it switched to B3 only. If I switch off Band select, it uses only B3!
Why in auto band select it doesn't switch to B7+3 (4G+)?
It would be very useful if I could make a preference list, i.e.:
B7+3 (4G+)
B20+3 (4G+)
B20+7 (4G+)
B7 (4G)
B3 (4G)
The best would be if it could chose automatically the best bands!...

Im install beta firmware and i test all the configuration (in france with Free operator)
Now i choose B28 and B7 and i have an upload to 20Mbits/sec
My download is not so good but it's a good compromise
B7B3 = DL 156 Mbits/sec and Up 5.6Mbits/sec
https://www.speedtest.net/result/9508661323
B28B7= DL 138 Mbits/sec and Up 19.3Mbits/sec

Thx for this beta

Hi @BzhAyoros,
Yes this firmware should work on your MR600 in France. I honestly don't know if you could revert to the stable version (I haven't tried, but you can find it here: https://www.tp-link.com/my/support/download/archer-mr600/#Firmware )

Ok thx @john.awad
when the final firmware will be released will it be available directly in the update area in the routeur or will it be necessary to reinstall the old official version?
