MR600 how to limit the Bandwidth of the guest network
Hi everybody,
Anyone know how to limit the bandwidth of the guest network in MR600?
I have enable QOS and set the QoS Priority of guest network in "LOW", but it doesn't work.

Bandwidth for guest network use
No bandwidth restrictions on the guest network, just lower QOS than voice and internal network. Locations have anywhere from 45mbps (DS3) to OC3(155mbps) and anywhere from 40-400 people on the networks. Forward proxy with a cache at all locations to reduce bandwidth consumption and increase speed.
Limit bandwidth on TP-Link Router
Please log in to the web management interface to setup bandwidth control.
- Open the web browser and in the address bar type in the default access like:: http://tplinkwifi.net.
- Type the username and password on the login page.
- Click on Bandwidth Control-Control Settings on the left menu.
- Click Save to save the settings.
Guest network slow down the speed
So they have full speed, just no access to other devices on your network when you have a separate guest network it could reduce your performance if there are a lot of people actively using it. because having more active users eats the bandwidth of your network.
Create a Guest Network
- From a computer connected by Ethernet to your router, open a browser and log in to the router's interface. Get into the wireless set up.
- You may need to activate the guest network feature.
- Confirm the network's name.
- The SSID broadcast may be either On or Off.
- Enter Wi-Fi security settings.
Enough bandwidth
Video streaming tends to eat up the most bandwidth, so households running simultaneous streams may want to pony up for higher speeds. Netflix recommends a 3 Mbps connection for one standard-quality stream and 5 Mbps for a high-definition stream. Two simultaneous HD quality streams would need around 10 Mbps, and so on.
WiFi channel
A WiFi channel is a medium through which our wireless networks can send and receive data. For routers made in the U.S., the 2.4 GHz band has 11 channels and the 5 GHz band has 45 channels.

Could you please provide more details about your test results? speed you get when you connect guest network and total bandwitdh you have?

You solve my question, that is MR600 have "No bandwidth restrictions on the guest network". THX
After searching in internet, I found that there is some model of router(even old model) have this setting!!!

Let's say that an expensive router like this should work perfectly and it should have all the functions that could be found in all other routers... :(
Then:
- No 2/3/4G disconnections
- No Wifi issues
- Bandwidth limit setting for different connected devices and for different apps (Skype).

Did you ever get this fixed? Been trying all day to get my guest network bandwidth restricted and stuck with this QoS thing. All tutorials and YouTube videos show clearly a bandwidth limiter feature so bit confused how a high end router like the MR600 doesn't have this?

Hi, I hope this information is useful to u.
Step 1: These bandwidth limitation guidelines are for TP-Link routers, but they should be similar for other brands of routers as well
Step 2: Log into your TP-Link router by following these steps.
Step 3: Locate the TP-Link router’s IP address. It is typically mentioned in the label stuck on the router and the user manual.
Step 4: To find it from your computer, open ‘Command Prompt’ from the ‘Start’ menu and type ‘ipconfig /all’ without quotes. Press Enter. Copy the ‘Default gateway’ field data to the clipboard. (This is the TP-Link router’s IP address.)
Step 5: Double-click the web browser icon on the desktop to launch the browser.
Step 6: Enter the TP-Link router’s IP address in the ‘address bar’ and press Enter.
Step 7: The router’s Login window appears. Key in the username and password in the respective fields and then click Login. (It should be 'admin' for the username, and you can leave the password field blank.)
Step 8: When the TP-Link router’s GUI, i.e., EWS page loads, click the Guest Network button on the left-hand side panel.
Step 9: Select the Enable option from the ‘Guest Network Isolation’ and ‘Guest Network Bandwidth Control’ drop-down lists.
Step 10: Select the Band and then click the ‘Enable’ radio button beside the Guest Network option. Rename the Network name to something with ‘guest’ at the end for easy identification.
Step 11: Choose WPA/WPA2-Personal from the ‘Security’ drop-down list.
Step 12: Set Authentication Type and Encryption to ‘Auto.’ Enter a passphrase in the ‘Wireless Password’ field. Scroll down and click Save.
Step 13: Click ‘Bandwidth Control’ on the left-hand side panel, click the ‘Enable Bandwidth Control’ checkbox, and set the Egress/Ingress Bandwidths. Click Save.
Step 14: Click Guest Network on the left-hand side panel again. Select the Enable option from the ‘Guest Network Bandwidth Control’ drop-down list.
Step 15: Scroll down to the Egress and Ingress Bandwidth section. Enter the minimum and maximum bandwidth in Kilobytes per second in both the fields. Click Save.
Step 16: This completes the router’s guest network bandwidth limitation procedure.
