The router does not supply enough current on the USB port to run (at least all I have seen) an external HDD. To the best of my understanding, use only externally powered HDDs to the router.

@Kevin_Z The router is a V2 model. I attempted to access the drive from the TP-Link GUI. Afterwards, devices can use it via SMB network shares. I know not a true NAS, but quite functional other than...
