I have one model from 2007 and one Late 2012.Both on Maverick OS. Whats your OS? The weird thing is that the old extender works with no problems.

The first extender works perfeclty.Firmware is already at latest version.I tried different SSID's at the new but nothing yet.it's really annoying.

update.. I remove the wifi password from the main router and to the repeater wa850re.And i could then login from my computer.So i guess it's not a DHCP problem.

have you check the dns on your network settings on your computer?
