Archer VR200 - cant get port forwarding to work

Hi,
So I am trying to get port forwarding (Virtual servers) to work.
I have done the following:
- Reserved a permanent address for the local machine that I am trying to get port forwarding working for. It is an iMac and the local address is 192.168.1.129
- Added an entry in the virtual server section using the settings - external port 9, internal IP as above, internal port 9, all protocols, and enabled it.
But when I use a tool such as open port check tool website and use my external IP and port 9 then it says it is closed.
Is there something else I need to do to make it open this port?
thanks for any help.
Neil
