Model: Deco X20-4G   Deco M5
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

When the X20 is connected to the M5 via a TL-SG105, the X20 ethernet ports remain down.

My topology is the following: Deco X20-4G ->cable->TL-SG105->Deco M5 (on another floor). Please also note that bypassing the switch altogether with an 1 to 1 cable splice, the ethernet port activates properly and the remote M5 connects to the Deco network.

Prior to switching to the X20, the switch was connecting the 4G router of my service provider to said M5, as well as a Deco M4R whithout any issues. Could it be a LAN/WAN port autosensing issue on the X20? If yes, is there anyway to force LAN connection on either port?

I do not suspect the switch, as it has been operating without issues in the previous setup.

Thank you in advance for your effort.

Hello and thank you for your response.

After reading the Ethernet back haul guide you suggested, I found this: Deco switching from Wi-Fi backhaul to Ethernet backhaul may create a short loop in the network for 1~2s. If your switch supports loop detection, it may block the port used by Deco. Please turn off the loop detection function on your switch, then reboot your switch and try again.

Apparently this was my problem. I disabled loop detection on the switch, and everything works.

Fun fact. I have read this guide in the past, but never reached the end of the page...

Thank you for your time and your suggestion.

Hi, welcome to our community.

Did you ever try different Ethernet port on Deco X20-4G?

Did you set 4G router mode or wireless router mode for Deco X20-4G?

Does the wired and wireless connection to the Deco X20-4G work properly?

You may also refer to the guide: General questions about Ethernet Backhaul feature on your Deco

Thank you and best regards.
