Hi there,

I have 3 Deco S4s around my house.  2 are connected on long ethernet lines to my broadband router.  I recently changed ISP and they shipped a new router (a TPLink VX230v).  My Deco's didn't connect to the internet right away once I put the new router in, I had to reset them all.  Now, the first (main) deco is connected fine, but each time I add one of the other 2 Deco's using the "add new deco" in the iOS app, they are found and work fine for a couple of minutes, then they disappear and the app tells me it cannot see the newly added Deco.  I have tried resetting them over and over.  The colour of the light on the "lost" deco is white.  I've tried placing them altogether:  connecting via ethernet to the router, connecting via Wifi to the main deco.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can diagnose this issue?

Hi, welcome to our community.

If you want Deco network work as router mode, only one Deco can be connected to the modem /modem router, usually we call it main Deco.

And this guide may help to resolve the problem: General Questions About the Ethernet Backhaul Feature on Deco Mesh Systems

Thank you and best regards.

Thanks very much  that is a useful guide.

I've got the deco's in AP mode.  Anyway i have managed to get the 3rd one connected now.  I realised that if i left the 2nd one out of the picture altogether, the 1st and 3rd ones remain stable.  I've tried connecting the 2nd one both via wifi and vie ethernet to the router, and to a switch, but it only stays up for a couple minutes.  Consequently, I think Deco 2 may be faulty.
