Hello everyone,

I'm here to share my experience with the TP-LINK XC220-G3v router, which works well with BSNL FTTH and VoIP. I've been using this router for four months and have encountered a few issues along the way.

Initial Setup & Common Issues

When I purchased this router, I found that many users had faced a common issue with BSNL FTTH and VoIP. Unfortunately, I ran into the same problem. Since I like troubleshooting things myself, I ordered the router without consulting my ISP.

Once I received the router, I began the setup process. I had all the necessary details, including my username, password, and VoIP configuration. However, despite following the steps carefully, the router wouldn't configure properly.

The issue? A simple mistake—I forgot to inform my ISP to reset my MAC address, which was still registered to my old router. TP-Link does have an option to set a custom

MAC address, but that didn’t work either.

After multiple failed attempts (and some frustration), I called my ISP the next day. The technician visited my home, made a call to the server room, and reset my MAC address. After that, the router accepted my username and password, but the setup still showed "No Internet Connection"—even though the internet was actually working. However,

TP-Link Cloud wasn’t working.

VoIP Setup & ISP Challenges

Next, we moved on to configuring VoIP, and the same issue occurred—it wasn't working. The technician called BSNL support, and they claimed that BSNL had stopped supporting TP-Link VoIP. They also warned that my internet might stop working in the future.

At that point, I suspected they were just trying to push their own routers instead of providing actual support. Since my internet was working fine, I told the technician that I was okay with it, and he left.

Later that night, I carefully reconfigured VoIP step by step, and voilà! It started working, along with TP-Link Cloud. Everything was perfect.

Unexpected VoIP Issues & Final Fix

However, my happiness didn’t last long. A week later, my internet went down for 3-4 hours, and when it came back, VoIP had stopped working. Even though everything was configured correctly, VoIP wouldn’t function.

Then, I decided to reboot the router through the software interface instead of unplugging the power supply, and voilà! VoIP started working again.

A few days ago, I accidentally reset my router and had to reconfigure everything from scratch. This time, I didn’t get the "No Internet Connection" error—instead, I got "Setup was successful", and VoIP worked instantly.

Final Verdict

So, long story short, the TP-LINK XC220-G3v works perfectly with BSNL FTTH and VoIP in the Pune, Maharashtra Circle. Just make sure to:
Ask your ISP to reset your MAC address before setting up the router.
Reboot the router through the software (not by unplugging) if VoIP stops working.
Be patient and configure VoIP carefully—it works!

Hope this helps others facing similar issues. Feel free to ask if you have any questions!
