Deco BE85 SFP+ overheating
I have a pair of BE85 configured as "Access Point" and I'm using SFP+ module to connect them to my switch. Modules model is TP-Link TL-SM5110-SR.
I've being using the SFP+ modules for a couple of weeks now, before that I used 10Gtek DAC on primary and RJ45 between the 2, no switch.
After I started using the sfp fiber modules, my connection became unstable, some times I see an error on Deco App saying "Abnormal WAN port speed. Please check your WAN port connection." And I need to reboot the decos for the error to go away.
When this error is showing, they can't reach the full internet speed on speedtest measurements. I've checked speeds on a PC connected directly to the switch and was able to reach full speed as expected.
I have noticed that the SFP+ module is really hot to the touch, while the ones connected to the switch (another brand of modules) are warm but within normal operation temperatures.
Shouldn't my deco fans be kicking in to cool down these modules? I didn't hear the fans kicking in since I plugged these modules, and one of the decos is on my computer desk, so I am able to hear it when it kicks in.
SFP+ modules have temperature reporting but it seems like the Deco's software doesn't check it at all to see if fans need to spin up. It would also be nice to have the module information on the webpage accessible via the main deco IP address.
I'm sure this issue I'm experiencing is due to the modules overheating but there's absolutely nothing on the logs about that.
Please make it so the fans spin up if SFP+ modules are running hot!
Best Regards.
