@David-TP On my samsung TV netflix, youtube and disney+ were not working. All other stuff like spotify, samsung tv+ were working well.

Strange enough; Netflix on laptop worked normaly.

Now after downgrading, evertihing works again.

i tried installing beta version on M9 plus V2.8 in US.

all lights are red solid and this window is present. Is beta version installed?

Does this firmware version also knock out certain services on Amazon Echo devices?

My Echo Show 8 is effectively useless since 2 days ago - it won't do anything. 

Meanwhile my Echo and Echo Dots have reduced functionality - specifically, they won't play Amazon Music or BBC Sounds at all. But they do still react to voice commends. 

Google services have been unreliable too.

Trying to troubleshoot this has been driving me mad!

My network is a mix of 2 M9Plus v2 and 3 M5.  One M9 us the main unit connected to the internet box.

Thanks for offering a way to downgrade. I've had similar experiences, based in Europe, running the v2 models (M9 Plus).

My assumption is that there is something incorrect in the 1.80 firmware regarding websockets.

I've also had issues streaming through Netflix, HBO and accessing GMail from a Macbook Pro. On Windows devices and Android Gmail worked fine, but also had issues streaming.

However, the most repeatable scenario where I experience issues was that I wasn't able to connect to my Home Assistant configuration out-of-home. I have a configuration with port forwarding to the Home Assistant server. When at home it works fine, but as soon as I try to reach it through 5G, or through another network, it kept 'loading data'. This is a known issue under Home Assistant when you cannot get a websocket established. Hope this helps to identify the issues.

Short question: I've managed to download and install the Deco M9_Plus_20250124_Beta Firmware as described in the article.

This version works and all Decos now run the 1.6.4 version (see screenshot)

In the guide you refer to downloading the office 1.6.4 release (https://www.tp-link.com/support/download/deco-m9-plus/#Firmware), but when I visit that page the only version I can see is 1.6.3. (see screenshot)

Should I now install that version, or can I continue running the 1.6.4 Build 20250124?

  @HeroCivil  mine is working by switching off the real time protection and rebooting all the units. Has been stable since I did this and hasn't dropped since. I am still on the 1.8 firmware just to save everyone downgrading.

I did do a full reset and broke it as soon as real time protection was switched on. Turned it all off and worked again quite happily.

My current interim resolution is to disconnect my 2 M9 units completely and reconfigure one of my M5 s as the Main.

All my services appear to work fine now, though I've had to move 2 M5s to fill the gaps in coverage lost.

I think I'll run with that configuration until TP-Link produce a more thoroughly tested firmware release.  And I'm not going to update firmware in future until it's been "in the wild" for several weeks!

  @Dalboyne agreed, auto updates are off. Minimum config for now, just as long a it works.

Same problem here in Europe with Deco M9  Plus  V2 after firmware upgrade to 1.8.0. I also tried the option to turn off the realtime protection and everythings works smoothly again untill now. Lets hope TPlink is comming with a new firmware upgrade soon which can be upgraded via the normal way. If you are a little bit nervious about downgrading the firmware you can also try to turn off the realtime protection.

Probaly the people that use the deco as AccesPoint dont have the firmware problem if there is any relation to the realtime protection, because then this is not active? 

After upgrading to 1.8.0 many programs indeed did not function including many Google related programs. The answers of the local TP-link indicated that they were not informed of the issues within the 1.8.0 firmware. After a troublesome day the above TP-link forum provided the solution to install the beta firmware. 

Most ,if not all, programs and services seem to function again. Thank you very much.
