Hello, I have tried to use VPN Clients with NordVPN but it doesn't change the ip on the client at all.

 

I have tried to do the following:

1. Go to the VPN Clients in the Tether App

2. Select NordVPN and add the target device on the Client List

3. VPN says connected

4. Client shows no difference in IP

1. Try again, this time download a config file from NordVPN and using it via OpenVPN

2. VPN says connected

2. No difference in client's ip address

 

This might be related to the same issues as in this post. I mentioned it there too, but since it received no support and it's a different hardware/firmware, I thought it deserves it's own report.

 

A side-note, I've notice the internet connection is less stable since the latest firmware update, I have small drops even on video calls when this never happened in the past, but I can't say for sure if this is a problem with the router or just a coincidence with the ISP.

Hi @SimonSorcerer,

Please let me know how you determined that the VPN is not working. Typically, the way we assess whether the VPN is functioning properly is by checking the public IP address at whatismyip.com (or similar site) before and after enabling the VPN.
And some clients may use random/private mac address.

  @Joseph-TP Hi Joseph,

yes I've been testing with whatismyip.com and it always shows the device at the original location. I've tested many different servers and different local settings such as disabling the "Private WiFi address" that macs have by default, to no avail.

Hi  @SimonSorcerer,

I will send you a beta firmware, please update firmware manually. If the issue persists, please send more screenshots showing error message and your settings.
