Model: Archer AX72 Pro
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.1 Build 20240426 rel.40133

There are huge problems with EasyMesh. It is very unstable despite the fact the routers having medium connectivity strength. When connecting via wire, the entire networks stops working. When connected wirelessly, the phones connect and drop from the network all the time. Router rebooting order matter or it doesn't work for hours. Terrible stability and non functional.

Hi  @NeuHow,

May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:
Cable modem—main router—satellite router)))((( client devices
(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )

"Wired connection causes the entire network to disconnect" means easymesh Ethernet backhaul is not working? Please refer to the FAQ to set up easymesh Ethernet backhaul:How to add a router to an EasyMesh network as a satellite device

Please note that you need to Reset the satellite router to factory settings before you create easymesh network via Ethernet backhaul.

Hi  @NeuHow,

Could you provide more details here?

When you mentioned 'connecting via wire, the entire networks stops working', does it mean that the EasyMesh network cannot work when the satellite router is connected to the main router via cable? Or does the wired client devices fail to obtain the network normally?

Every time the network is unstable, can the client use the main router's network normally?

Have you tried to adjust the position of the satellite router? Or set the satellite router as the main router for comparison?

@Joseph-TP the network topology is exactly as you've written:

Cable modem—main router—satellite router)))((( client devices

plus the main router has WiFi enabled as well.

I reset the satellite router, connected the Ethernet backhaul and performed the configuration again. Unfortunately, the behavior is exactly the same - the connection is there, but the clients (both wired and wireless) connected to both routers cannot access Internet. Wired clients connected to the satellite router have good connection to the Internet. Then slowly, after several minutes, the wireless clients get Internet connection. Initially very choppy, but then it gets better over time. I often need to have th main router rebooted then followed by another reboot of the satellite one to get things (hopefully) to be working. But still, when those reboot, a long time is needed for them to stabilize. When the satellite router is powered off and powered on, the same story begins all over - wireless clients connected to the satellite router cannot access Internet (but the wired ones can). The backhaul cable is good as it was tested with the professional cable tester - but the same thing happens with the wireless connection between the main and the satellite routers.

Hi  @NeuHow,

Have you tried swapping the roles of the two routers? That is, setting the main router to the satellite router to see if this is a problem with the fixed router or the fixed role?

Although you think the cable is very stable, in order to locate the problem more accurately, you can consider replacing the cable as a troubleshooting attempt.
