Configuration Guide Install 5G External Antennas on Archer and Deco 5G Routers
Why the external antennas are necessary?
For Archer NX200/NX600 as well as Deco X50-5G/Deco X80-5G, they are all indoor 5G routers. Due to location constraints, it's best to place them near a window for optimal performance. Even though the 5G mobile reception can be under satisfaction especially if the nearest 5G cell tower is far away or located in a different direction.
How to pick up the correct outdoor 5G antennas:

Finally, enable the External antennas on the web UI/Deco APP:
- On the Archer web UI, please enable external antennas under Advanced>Network>Internet >Mobile WAN
- On the Deco APP, please go to More > External Antennas
Note: Confirm Archer and Deco 5G routers work under "MBB" or "4G/5G Router" Mode!
Would there be any recommended 5G external antennas?
As the performance of 5G external antennas is closely tied to the current SIM operators and nearby cell towers, we haven't conducted extensive field tests. Unfortunately, there isn't a recommended list of external antennas available. However, if you've tested any specific models, we would greatly appreciate your input! Please share your recommendations in the comments below, along with your SIM carrier, as this information would be incredibly helpful for other users.

Hi, welcome to the community.
You can find the hardware version on the bottom product label.
For V2 of Deco X50-5G, the router has an SMA Female antenna port, and it would be ok to use an external antenna that has an SMA male connector.
However, for V1, the router is RP-SMA Female, and you might need an RP-SMA Male to SMA Female converter to use an external antenna that has an SMA male connector.
