XE75 Firmware Update Notification, But No Update?

Model: Deco XE75
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I woke up this morning to a notification that my Deco had a firmware update (I can still see it in my Android notification history).

I checked multiple times, it claims I'm up to date.

Firmware 1.4.1 and 1.2.9 (I have 6 units, half are V1 and the other V2).

Was this an app bug? Server side notification bug? Or there was an update and then it got pulled?

Hi, Thank you very much for your feedback.

Did the firmware notification mention the new version number or can I have a screenshot of the notification?

For Deco XE75 V1/V1.6, the latest official version is 1.4.5, and for V2/V2.6, the latest is 1.2.9(there was a 1.2.12 and it was pulled later).

Thanks again and best regards.

Sadly that notification is now bumped past the Android limit it seems. So I can't screenshot it. But I'm certain there was no specific details. It just said along the lines of "There is a new firmware update for your Deco".

Last night I was googling firmware updates to see if it was available and saw there was a new version on the USA site for V1. But I'm in Canada where the Canadian site has no such update. I get the feeling the USA release may have triggered the notification but when I check with the app for an update, it reports there is none.

Screenshot of my app.

Fyi, I received a second notification last night. Got the screenshot this time. I then tried updating multiple times and it keeps telling me everything is up to date.

I checked the Canadian site manually and confirmed there's an update from Dec 18 for V2 XE75. V1 has no update. I have both versions.

Hi, Thank you very much. It has been reported to the senior engineers. If there is a further update, I will update here as soon as possible.

PS: if other users happen to run into the same issue, please help me save some screenshots if possible, such as:

Best regards.

OK Thanks David. In the meantime, should I just be patient for the engineers to fix this problem so I can update my routers? Or should I be manually downloading the firmware from the Canadian site and updating it manually via the web interface? I know there's an option there to do updates. IF SO, my only question is, if I have a mix of V1 and V2 units, and the update is only applicable to V2, will the web interface correctly only appply this to V2 units? There was no option to pick the units.

Merry Christmas Eve!

Hi, It is suggested to manually update the firmware via web UI first.

Each Deco has its own web UI and Its IP address can be found on the Deco APP.

For example, if you access 192.168.71.250, it will open the UI of the satellite "Study" Deco here.

Furthermore, on the default UI http://tplinkdeco.net, There is an option to select which Deco to update.

Best regards.

Understood. Just an FYI, the tplinkdeco.net portal does not allow me to pick a unit as shown in the screenshot. But indeed, individual IP addresses do apparently allow me to connect to separate units. So I'll just do that.

Except that apparently the entire TP-Link website is down at the moment. Lol 504 error. I'll try the update once it's working again. Too many people getting your products for Christmas haha. Merry Christmas! Hope you have some holidays in there somewhere even if you don't celebrate.

Thanks for the help.
