New set of PA7017 failing to work as expected
Recently purchased a brand new set of PA7017.
Substituted a perfectly working set of PA4020P's.
Connection now is really bad, slow, terminating every half and hour.
The trace lenght is about 40 meters.
Power cable is underground, straight connection between a house and a garden shed (no junctions).
In the shed I have installed 5 CCTV 4K cameras, working for a couple of months perfectly with the 4020P's.
All kinds of combinations (for example one 4020 and a 7017 on the other end) produce
slightly better result, but same "shaky" connection.
Did not check connection with tpPLC, will try tonight and report.
Very frustrated, at the point to return the 7017s... any idea what might be wrong?

TL-(W)PA4xxxx, TL-(W)PA7xxx are different series, we do not recommend using different series of powerline devices in one network.
May I confirm whether your CCTV 4K cameras are connected to PA7017 via wired or wireless connection? If it is wireless connection, then you should have purchased TL-WPA7517 kit, and the cameras should be connected to the Wi-Fi of TL-WPA7517.
Please confirm whether the camera can obtain the network normally? Or it does not work at all? Since the default Wi-Fi setting of TL-WPA7517 kit is different from the corresponding set of PA4020P, if you have not modified it, it is recommended that you reset one of the CCTV 4k cameras, and reconnect the camera to the Wi-Fi of TL-WPA7517 kit to see if it can work stably?
If the cameras are indeed correctly connected to the network of TL-PA7017 KIT, but there is network instability, please try the following suggestions:
If you are experiencing an unstable internet connection on your TP-Link powerline devices, or the powerline LED frequently turns off, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:
1. For wired powerline adapters, check if Power Saving Mode is enabled. You can disable it using the tpPLC utility. Refer to this FAQ for detailed instructions: How to enable/disable power saving mode
2. Move the powerline extender closer to the router and the powerline adapter. Placing them in the same room for testing.
3. Test the internet connection by connecting your client devices directly to the main router. This will help determine if the issue is specific to the powerline connection or if it's a problem with the router itself.
4. If the problem seems to be isolated to a specific client device, try connecting that device to a different network to see if the issue persists. Additionally, you can try using different Ethernet cables or ports for wired client devices to rule out any potential cable or port issues.

First off, thank you for the detailed and professional answer.
I am sorry if my initial frustration led to a somewhat emotional post :)
Once again, detailed description of case.
Network is as follows:
1) House (internet entering and distributed internally by a Linksys Mesh System Velop structure) -->
2) First unit 4020P, connected with LAN cable to Velop main router, and itself switched to a power outlet -->
3) Power cable from house to garden shed, lenght of cca.40 mtrs. Power cable is on the same phase and fuse as outlet where 4020P is plugged in-->
4) Second unit 4020P, plugged in power outlet in shed -->
5) TP Link 10 port switch, connected to 4020P with LAN cable -->
6) 5 CCTV cameras connected to switch (LAN cables again)
This setup was working flawlessly for months.
Couple of days ago I decided to "upgrade" and substitute the 4020P's with 7017's.
I just bought the 7017's, unplugged the 4020's, plugged them, coupled them (successfully) and then connection started to drop and slowed down
to a point cameras were constantly dropping in and out...
Nothing else was changed in the whole setup or network routes...
I am just curios why the 7017 behave so bad, where it should be expected they would be a step upwards?
Last night I restored the old setup (plugged back the 4020's) and all is back to normal within seconds...

Please check the powerline rate of TL-PA7017kit, refer to Case 2: https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/2231/
If it is not ideal, then the reason for the poor network speed is probably that the environment is not suitable for the 7 series, because its hardware is different from the 4 series.
You can refer to the following suggestions: What can I do if my powerline rate is very low?
If the problem still cannot be improved, unfortunately, there is no other suitable suggestion for this problem of the 7 series. Your usage environment is not suitable for using 7 series products, so you can consider the 8 series products, or continue to use the 4 series products.
