Hi tp-link community,

I am using a combination of 1x Deco X50-5G & 5x Deco M4R.

Since a couple month now I am getting the pop-up in the Deco Android app which states "some of your decos are operating on an old firmware version. please update before continuing to work with the network". Once I start the update process the app shows me that it downloads the new firmware and then the 7 minute installation sequence get's triggered when I click install. To me it seems like after that nothing happens, no restart, to change at all. Next time I open the app, the pop-up just re-appears and the whole process can be started again and again.

So far everything is working fine with the devices, but I am wondering how I can resolve this issue that they are stuck on a certain firmware version.

I have attached picture here which shows to which version the Decos should be updated:

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

If it cannot update the firmware directly on the phone, you can manually download the firmware from TP-Link official webpage, and then upgrade the firmware manually.

Please refer to Method 2: Update the firmware manually via the web UI, which applies to the Deco models that have the web management page.
