Model: Deco X10
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I have a modem/router combo from my ISP and I can't turn off the router function, so I think I need to configure my deco's to AP-mode.

Directly next to my modem/router is a 10 port switch that distributes the wired signal to the ethernet wall sockets in the rooms in my home. I would like to plug my main deco into the ethernet wall socket in the living room, another deco into the ethernet wall socket of my office room on the 2nd floor and a 3rd deco in the bedroom that has no ethernet wall socket.

I have 2 questions:

1) Is this the correct way to set this up?

2) Will my devices be able to "see" eachother in a LAN network?

Hi,

The connection you want is possible when the Deco works in AP mode,

And in this network topology, if only the router works as the DHCP server, then all end devices will be within the same LAN and should be able to see each other.

But this also depends on the settings of your main router. So you may confirm with the router support for more detailed information.
