VX420 G2h SMTP problem only on LAN ports

VX420-G2h iiNet / Westnet supplied 4G modem/router.
Using it as 4G Home internet.
Although only at 18MBS works ok for general Internet use.
Emails are with westnet dot com dot au
PC connected to Modem via Ethernet cable as on same desk.
Receives emails ok, BUT will not send SMTP.
Tried Thunderbird detected settings and also EM Client detected settings. Thinking it was SMTP settings as iiNet in process of handing off email server.
So to narrow problem, tried hotspot to mobile and emails work a treat.
Tried different ethernet cable no difference.
So I unplugged cable and used WiFi to modem, and it WORKED.
So SMTP settings must be correct, why wouldn't Ethernet ports on modem send SMTP, never seen that before. Usually ethernet is foolproof when troubleshooting.
Any clues? Firewall? MTU? DNS? IPv4/6?
I will reset modem, look at IPv4/6, MTU and DNS. Don't think I can find Firmware as its iiNet supplied.
Just in all my years never seen this problem.
