Hi there

 

I'm new to here, I recently update the Deco X20's firmware and find a new feature IoT, I have a question that when I use the IoT network, all the devices just linked to the main Deco can't see them link to the nearest Deco, so it's that mean Iot and Fast roaming can't use at same time?

 

And I used combined two different versions of Deco ax1800, I don't know why but they looks the same to me but the main one with firm version 1.1.5 Rel. 62511.

 

I think the IoT is quit useful when bunch of smart devices only can access the 2.4G network but if it can't link to the nearest mesh makes all the things less meaning.

Hi, Thank you very much for your feedback.

I noticed you mentioned there are different firmware versions on the Deco X20.

 And I checked the firmware of 2.0.4 Rel. 41671. It should be the customized firmware version for local internet service providers.  Normally, you can tell it from the model number on the product label.

How many Deco X20 that have firmware 2.0.4 since this version doesn't support an IOT network? 1.1.5 does support the IOT network.

Thanks for your help David! It's all make sense now. I have 4 Deco x20 come from local network company and one deco from second hand market, so if the firmware 2.0.4 doesn't support IoT is there any chance I can change this firmware ?

Hi, I am afraid not. You could try to contact the internet service provider. The firmware upgrade of customized versions for local ISPs needs their approval first.

They might have a new firmware version that adds similar features.
