Model: Archer AX1800
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.5 Build 20211231 rel.63820(5553)

Hi all,

I've been playing with the OpenVPN server and trying to get access to both my home network and the internet through it, but somehow there is a strange problem.

If I choose "home network only" on the router's configuration page, I can connect to the home network, access the router's page, etc. But, as long as I choose the other option, "internet and home network" (and save), I can no longer connect to the server from the ipad app. I've checked the OpenVPN troubleshooting page but it isn't helpful for this specific case.

I've also set up DDNS and the ovpn file was generated with the correct hostname.

Could you help me with this?

Hi  @Sunshine,

Thank you for the reply. I've actually solved this by changing the dhcp range. Since my tplink is behind the isp's router, I had to change both routers' range and now they are 192.168.100.0&192.168.200.0.

  @sssphil

After you change "home network only" to "internet and home network", did you export the configuration file again and upload the new file into the OpenVPN Client App?

If the problem still exists, please share with us the error message or logs when trying to connect the OpenVPN Server.
