Hi,

The AX73's Broadcom BCM6750 chip has a Triple-Core Cortex-A7 CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz.

To put this into perspective, the HTC Desire 816, a mid-range smartphone from 2014, has a Quad-Core Cortex-A7 CPU at 1.6 GHz.

So, for a fair comparison you should install the OpenVPN client on a mid-range phone from around 2014 and test how much download speed it can achieve.

In case you are indeed able to test this, then please report back, as I am also interested in the result. (I can't do the old-phone test it myself, due to lack of access to a fast enough VPN server)

I have a iPhone 6s (Model: MN0W2VC/A) I just tested with which was manufactured in 2015. It is currently running iOS 15.3 and I installed an OpenVPN client from the AppStore. I imported the same NordVPN configuration file like on the AX73.

The result was the iPhone 6s is getting 120Mbps download using the UDP configuration file. On the AX73, I can only max out at 50Mbps.

The iPhone 6s being one of the flagship phones of its time, we can assume its CPU was already much more powerful than any Cortex A7-based CPU, so the 50 Mbps the Archer AX73 manages to transfer through OpenVPN might just be the limit for its CPU.
