Model: Archer VR600v
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: Firmware Version:1.0.0 0.9.1 v0078.0 Build 170814 Rel.66346n

Hi,

I just purchased a new  AC1600 VDSL/ADSL  Modem router, and run into this issue.

I have setup a DDNS domain from NoIP provider, using the recommanded link from the web management.

After setting up the DDNS and able to login successfully.

But i find out that the IP resolve from the DDNS name is difference from the PPPoe i get from the ISP(which is random).

I am setting up the openvpn using this ddns name and openvpn cannot be connected.

the ip i get for the PPPoe is in the 100. . . . something, but ddns resolved ip with 180...something.

your help is very appreciated.

  @lamertea

Most probably that's due to a so called CG-NAT if oyu r PPPoE address is in this range 100.64.0.0 to 100.127.255.255.

In this case you should talk to your ISP to check the technical possibilities for using the OpenVPN.

  @terziyski  thanks for your reply, this the first time knowing about this CGNAT, ISP level issue.

Is there any work around method, for now, I still can't connect through openvpn.

There's no workaround in this situation - your only hope is your ISP.
