Hi,

I have purchased an ax11000 router from tp link.

As advertised it should be able to transmit 160mhz wide channels on both wifi 5ghz bands.

At the moment I can only get the 5ghz 1 band to broadcast using 160mhz wide channels with DFS uni 2 channels.

5ghz band 2 is set to use auto channel and 160mhz width but always chooses  80mhz wide channels and even if I select a specifc uni 2 extended channel it still uses 80mhz.

I've tried already to manually set a channel but it doesn't make a difference. Neither does changing to 80mhz then back to 160mhz.

Also power cycled the router to no avail

My ax6600 router was perfectly fine with using uni 2 extended channels and broadcasting 160mhz wide channels so I know there aren't any local radar issues. In fact tomorrow I'll put it in the same spot just to prove it's not a DFS radar detection issue.

I'm not using smart connect and all my ssids are separate.

I wonder if anyone has faced this problem and solved it?

Seems another tp link reliability problem and I'm kind of regretting of choosing tp link since I moved away from Netgear.

Thanks

@Pro4TLZZ

Try setting for 5GHz band 1 channel 36 and for 5GHz band 2 channel 100 and see if that helps.

Just out of interest, if you disable 5GHz band 1 and use only 5GHz band 2 does it connect @160 MHz ?

Here you can see the channels allocation for 5GHz band.

@terziyski

Thanks

I did end up doing exactly what you described last night to no avail.

Woke up this morning and didn't change any settings and finally the 2nd band is using 160mhz wide channels

Suddenly now it's running 80mhz width.

Its annoying there is no control of this given I paid for a radio with 160mhz support
