Folks - help me save my marriage

I'm trying to set up a W8980 to act as a wifi bridge to my new VirginMedia SuperHub2 (Netgear VMDG485) Dual channel

I've set the W8980 in bridge mode and set same SSIDs & Passphrases, Encryption. Do channels have to come off Auto and be set the same on both?

Do I set the Super hub as DHCP server?

What else do I have to set?

Any help greatly appreciated, I'm going bald from hair pulling

Hi.
When enabling WDS on TD-W8980, the channel and wireless security settings on TD-W8980 should be the same with those on the Netgear router.
Enable DHCP function on the Super hub2 and disable DHCP function on the TD-W8980.
If the LAN IP of Super hub2 is 192.168.1.1, you need to change the LAN IP of TD-W8980 to 192.168.1.X(2-254).

Thanks so much for your time Alisa

Unfortunately WDS doesn't seem to be a selectable option on the W8980 with this firmware. But I never wanted anything so fancy as WDS, I merely wanted to put it into client bridge mode, an easy step on any crappy router with dd-wrt, which is what I'm using now. I just wanted dual bands, better speeds over wifi and gig links for ethernet, too much to ask I guess.

My previous experience of TP-Link stuff - it was so easy to get any setup to work. This W8980 firmware is not playing ball. :(
