TL-WPA4220 V1.0: remove TP-Link Beta Watermark after downgrading FW?
TL-WPA4220 V1.0: remove TP-Link Beta Watermark after downgrading FW?
I have recently bought a TL-WPA4220-KIT, containing two TL-WPA4220 and one TL-4010 device. I struggle since day one with the WiFi on the TL-WPA4220 devices, the WiFi seems to be very unstable and this was also noticed by other community members.
After it was not any better after I upgraded to the Beta FW TL-WPA4220(EU)_V1_180509_Beta (and I absolutely hated the TP Link Beta watermark what make reading help and settings a nightmare experience), I decided to downgrade again to FW version TL-WPA4220(EU)_V1_170519.
I found both firmware versions on this page https://www.tp-link.com/de/support/download/tl-wpa4220/v1/#Firmware
I was absolute horrified that the downgrade to TL-WPA4220(EU)_V1_170519 does not remove the TP Link Beta watermark, I tried to reset the adapters to factory default, no success.
How can I get rid now of this dreadfully annoying TP-Link Beta Watermark? It is very distracting, annoying and it does not match with the FW TL-WPA4220(EU)_V1_170519 because this FW is not Beta.
I appreciate any help how to restore my TL-WPA4220 back to what it is after downgrading to TL-WPA4220(EU)_V1_170519, it is not beta anymore.
Can you please help how to get rid of this TP-Link Beta watermark?

Good day,
Thank you very much for your kind reply.
The beta firmware TL-WPA4220(EU)_V1_180509_Beta bin file is for the wireless part of TL-WPA4220.
And the firmware TL-WPA4220(EU)_V1_170519 (NVM+PIB file) is for the power-line part of TL-WPA4220(which is to say, you only downgrade the powerline part on the utility);
So you might need to use this firmware on the web interface:
TL-WPA4220 KIT(EU)_V1_160525 (bin file) to downgrade the wireless part with watermark.

Good day,
Thank you very much for your time and patience.
After resetting the TL-WPA4220 by holding the reset pinhole for 10s, have you try to upload the TL-WPA4220(EU)_V1_170519 again to have a look?
By the way, after the firmware update, what is the firmware version on the status page, 170519 or 180509?
Thanks a lot.

@Solla-topee I did reload the TL-WPA4220(EU)_V1_170519 two times even, but the TP-Link Beta background did not go away, the version I got after the reload of the older firmware is 170519 as seen in my provided screenshot.

Installing older firmware version TL-WPA4220(EU)_V1_170519 makes no difference: Beta background screen remains.
Please TP-Link; fix this issue!

@StardustOne The powerline utility does not work anymore, it used the discontinued Adobe Flashplayer. A newer version of the powerline utility is available but it does not find any powerline devices. Connecting to the devices to update the firmware or downgrade does not work anymore.
