Model: Deco M4
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.4.2 Build 20200727 Rel. 37987

Hello.

I don't have much knowledge about networking, so i'll try to explain my problem the best I can.

I've purchased the Deco M4 (2 units).

I have modem-router combained that connects directly to my pc via cable, and I've pluged the Deco to other Lan connection on the modem-router.

The Deco created a seperate wifi network from my existing wifi from the modem-router.

So I have two wifi networks that works at the same time.

My issue is when I wants to connect my printer wirelessly to the Deco. When I plug it to the Deco's wifi the printer connects but there is no connection between my pc to the printer, because my pc connects directly to my modem-router. And when I connects the printer to the modem-router's wifi, there is connection between the pc and the printer.

I've been told that's because my modem-router and the Deco works in different networks.

P.S.

I tried to set the Deco as an access point and it worked, but it feels laggish compared to router mode.

So I prefer to stay in router mode if it's possoble.

There is any solution?

Thanks :)

Hello,

Your understanding is correct, the reason is that the printer and your PC are in different networks, so they cannot communicate with each other. You need to switch the Deco to AP mode or connect your PC to the Deco network, then it will find the printer.

Good days.

Hi.

I tried to switch to AP mode, but it seems the performace really bad in this mode.

I can connect my pc with cable to the second port on the main deco or only wirelessly?

Hello, you can connect your PC to the other LAN port on the main Deco or connect to the Deco network wirelessly, both are ok.
