I bought this device to extend my wireless signal.

As I saw there is an ethernet connection, I thought this would be suitable since I have an ethernet cable through the wall from my router all the way to my dead zone.

After buying the device I figured that the ethernet port is meant to connect a device without wifi capabilities and not to extend the signal from the router.

Unfortunately, I don't have a power outlet closer to the router to extend it over wifi, I specifically wanted to extend the wifi signal over LAN.

 

Is there any way to change the role of the ethernet port? Instead of being an output source to other devices, turning it into an input to get a signal to the device itself?
