Solution MR600 MTU
Hi
Can anyone tell me how to drop the mtu size on my MR600 ? Its connected via 4g LTE only.
I have done some ping tests and 1400 is the biggest i get 100% no loss on but i cant find the setting to change it in the MR600 menu.
Thanks

Hi, thank you very much for your feedback.
Here is the beta firmware:
MTU will be adjusted automatically according to the internet, and MTU size displayed on the Advanced->Status page.
Thanks a lot.

Is this possible on this router ?
I have this message constantly repeating and cant get an open nat type.
The router in use might not support IP packet fragmentation, and some features of the PS4 might be restricted. For details contact the router manufacturer.

Thanks for the reply.
I agree with you, i have read on some other sites that the MR600 is a bit crap which is annoying because i associate TP-LINK with quality products.
I am assuming that i am just going to have to buy a new router
Again thanks for the reply

I agree that I can't find where to adjust MTU in the MR600. I'd like to set my MTU to 1428 to avoid fragmentation.
At this tp-link support page it shows an interface similar to that of the MR600 with an MTU setting
https://www.tp-link.com/uk/support/faq/1134/
But I agree that it appears absent from the MR600 unless I'm missing something obvious?

For some reason when the MR600 is in 3g/4g mode it doesnt show the MTU option, if you use a 4g router with bridge mode first then set the MR600 to router mode you can create a profile and the MTU option is available in the advanced drop down box. I have done this but i am still getting the same messages about ip fragmentation and am unable to achieve an open NAT.
I dropped the MTU on the router to 1400 after reading that 4g LTE is 1428 and wimax is 1400 still had no effect, so i did some tests and it seems that 1340 MTU is the biggest i can go without loss, so i set the MR600 MTU to 1368 but there is still no change.
Can anyone point me to a 4G router to solve this issue ?
If you find a solution please let me know.
Regards
Aaron

@Mitsi Thanks for the info. That makes sense. Strange that MTU is not available in 3G/4G mode. On some devices (for example my PS4) I have configured the MTU to 1428 to alleviate the issue as well, but router configuration would be better.
Thanks for your help.

@Mitsi and ALL
Hello All,
If you want to change the MTU size about the LTE gateway, we do have software that MTU will be adjusted automatically according to the internet but it cannot be customized.
So if anyone needs it, please tag me here and provide the following information:
- Why do you want to change the MTU?
- The hardware and firmware version of MR600;
Thank you very much.

1. I want to change it because packets are fragmented and it's hindering performance.
2. Firmware version: 1.1.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 200417 Rel.75138n
Hardware version: Archer MR600 v1 00000001

1. I want change MTU too. I run my IoT device under MR600 4G connection.
this device uses ssh connection over openVPN tunnel , but under 4G connention, ssh connection hangs expecting SSH2_MSG_KEX_ECDH_REPLY.
https://serverfault.com/questions/210408/cannot-ssh-debug1-expecting-ssh2-msg-kex-dh-gex-reply
Its quick solution is to change MTU smaller, but my IoT device is not able to change MTU.
I hope change the MTU size on MR600 side.
Cisco IR809 can.
2. Firmware Version:1.1.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 190412 Rel.66770n
