Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hello,

Anyone have trouble getting a Sony 7.2 STR-DN1080 Receiver to connect via WiFi to a Deco network?

Here are some bullet points:

  • Receiver detects WiFi network - solid signal (full bars)
  • Receiver can initiate WPS - it starts pairing with the Deco
    • I can also select the WiFi network manually and add in the password + encryption settings

However, after beginning WPS or manually entering connection details (password) the connection fails - it seems it is unable to authenticate correctly with Deco.

I did not have this problem previously when using a non-Deco network. Just seeing if anyone else has this problem?

The Sony STR-DN1080 seems to be the only problematic device on my network.

Here are a few things you can give it a go: reboot the Deco system and the Sony receiver; disable fast roaming; turn off 5GHz and use 2.4GHz only, vice versa; connect the main Deco to the modem directly with other satellites powered off.

May it help.

@Kevin_Z Fast Roaming is what caused the connection issue with my Sony STR-DN1080. This is surprising considering the DN1080 is a current model Sony ...

In anycase, Internet now works with my STR-DN1080.
