Model: TL-WA855RE
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 1.0.0 Build 20181018 Rel. 53612(6985)

The unit i bought works fine in one location... so i bought another one for another location and every now and then I still have internet but making speed test my internet drops from 20 Mbit to 1/2 Mbit which is terrible. So I tried rebooting and then goes back to great speed. Had to do this several times so I thought it's defected unit. I went on to buy another one and tried to replace the "defected" unit but I got the same exact happened... so I take it something is losing signal at some point and only rebooting fixes the problem.

Can anyone please help me?

In general this gadget saved my life.. I'm really happy with it except for this problem which occurs.

Thanks. ika

Hello Ika,

cause you have 2 extenders, may I know how do you connect them together? In other word, what is the current network topology/network diagram?

Besides, you can refer  to the information below to troubleshoot. https://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-2232.html and we need more details to do further analysis.

1. The speed you can get from each extender and main router.

2. The current light status of the extender.

3. The distance between each other and the signal strength.

4. Please check the wireless link speed with your device connected to the extender. https://www.tp-link.com/en/faq-2265.html

5. To do a comparison analysis, please put your computer next to the extender and connect it to the main router to run the speed test and show us the result.

Thanks for your cooperation.
