Firmware Version : 0.3.0 0.9.1 v006c.0 Build 170809 Rel.42095n

ISP : BT Infinity

Hi all,

I have a question about the IPv6 configuration on the VR2800.

With IPv4 the DNS servers are configured under LAN settings and I can see them pushed to the clients just fine. The IPv6 DNS servers are configured in the Advanced options under the Internet Connection Setup. I have set a customer IPv6 DNS server here and the VR2800 appears to have accepted it ok but I do not see this address pushed out to the clients. The address that is pushed out to the clients is the router address and rather than the customer DNS address.

Should the customer DNS address be pushed out to the clients or does the is it correct that the router address is handed out and router handles IPv6 DNS internally?

Thanks

EDIT: Router details.

Yes, same thing happens for me.

Also, when I add custom IPv6 DNS servers (in the Network -> Internet) settings, it doesn't "remember" the addresses.

If my modem ever needs to resend, or if my ISP boots my connection for any reason (e.g. network maintenance), then my modem simply "forgets" the IPv6 DNS addresses that I had manually entered.

This causes problems, as my devices get an IPv6 address, and they think they're getting a IPv6 DNS address also, but it's just blank. Of course, the devices fall back to IPv4 DNS ok, but some of them take a painful amount of time to do this.
