VR600v1: 5GHz won't stay on selected channel

VR600v1: 5GHz won't stay on selected channel

I have a VR600v1. I set the 5GHz wifi to use channel 52 in the web gui to avoid congestion with the neighbours. I monitor the channel the 5GHz wifi is using with the wavemon program, and I see that after a period of time, the 5 GHz wifi returns to channel 36, even though the GUI still shows channel 52 as selected. Does anyone else see this? I think this may be a reason to return this for a refund, since TP-Link no longer support the router.
