Does it happen every time after you turn off and on the power? Did you try manually push the reset button on the back of the router?

I don't know, but am curious if you turned it off with the power button on the back or by unplugging it?I do know someone else had this issue in another thread, so scroll down to see if you can find that one, though I don't think he got a solution. I hope you had your settings backed up!

The link to the beta firmware seems to be broken. Any chance you could provide a working link. Thanks!
Never mind I got the link to work. It looks like the forum inserts a * instead of a space "http://static.tp-link.com/Archer*C5400(US)_V2_170801_beta.zip" is where it directs you and the correct link is " http://static.tp-link.com/Archer C5400(US)_V2_170801_beta.zip". Deleting the * and going to it got it to download.
Unfortunately even with the beta firmware my router is still broken. Your mileage may very though.

This issue happens to me as well. Every time my C5400 loses power, it resets to factory defaults. VERY annoying.
