Rebooting a router means cycling the power to it or refresh the router. Perhaps the steps that are given here https://www.hardreset99.com/routers/tp-link/tp-link-archer-c5400-factory-reset/ will help you solve this problem.

That is not the problem.

The problem is when you turn off the power and unplug the device, it resets to factory defaults . Router should not lose its configurations on a shutdown or being unplugged.

I have the beta firmware installed and it resolved that issue, but the beta firmware is still flaky and needs some bugs squashed.

had the same problem with loosing memory when power was cut. so far the beta firmware seems to have that fixed, but having "TP-LINK Beta" written across the background image makes reading the menus aggravating.

Unfortunately, it often happens to my router me as well. We lose power after the hard rain sometimes and every time it is the same: back to factory defaults.
