Archer C9 V3: cannot access cabled device by name
Model : Archer C9
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version : 1.3.0 Build 20161018 rel.71163(4555)
ISP :
On my new Archer C9 V3 I plugged in my Raspberry PI with the open source media center OSMC.
With my previous router (Netgear R7000) I could access the RPI by name: osmc.
Unfortunately, with the Archer C9 I cannot even ping the RPI by name: "Name or service not known".
I can, however, ping by IP address.
The IP address can change with each boot (default DHCP) but I'd prefer to use DNS names to access my devices.
How can I achieve this?
If that is not possible, how can I give a static IP to the RPI (and only that device)?
