AV1200 3 Port Powerline not letting internet out

I have AV1200 3 port Powerline connected to BT SmartHub 5. Raw internet from the SmartHub goes into the Powerline1 ,but nothing comes out! I tested the ethernet from the SmartHub (Powerline1 input) with PC successfully - so know internet is available as the PC connects to WWW. However, when I put the input cable into the Powerline1 and use a second (output) port cable from PowerLine1 to the PC - internet is not available.... any ideas on how to get internet out from Powerline1?
