I'm sharing a USB3 HD on my Archer C9. The share names comes up as sda1. Probably because the units boot Linux I imagine. Can I rename sda1 to something else?

You mean the share name or the folder name?
The share name you can modify here http://i.imgur.com/BQkeJVE.png.
The folder name here (right below the Sharing Settings) http://i.imgur.com/077Z71Q.png.

Same issue. I can change the share name and the folder name but the router appends the volume name sda2 after the folder... so the path looks \\Sharename\Foldername(sda2). Is there anyway to stop the volume name from being appended so the path is \\Sharename\Foldername[COLOR=#ff0000]?
Thanks

I know this is Necroing this post. but I will add this answer for the others who find this like I did. You have to turn off the "Share all" option Then "Add" a folder Chose the drive as the folder then name it whatever you like.

@Kicel  I see same problem there is suffix after  folder name, for me it is :  \\alihome\home_disk(sda1)  and this is very stupid design to me. But I aware someting you can use it even without that suffix just enter "\\alihome\home_disk" or \\192.168.1.1\home_disk  (path is up to you)
