rename clients
Hello
Is it possible to rename connected clients? For some of the wired or wireless connected clients I can see the IP and MAC address as well as a name (e.g. Pete's iMac), others only show IP and MAC address and a * instead of a name. I'ld like to rename there in order to identify them more easily and also to set up parental control profiles easily.
Thanks for any hint, Thomas

On my Archer AX50 there are definitely pencils and renaming device's names works fine. Are you viewing the Archer AX50's webpage on a smartphone or something? If yes, then use a desktop web browser instead.

Some routers WebGUI allows to rename the client name. Check for this symbol in your "network map":
If you don't see this symbol that means your router doesn't support this feature.

Thanks for your fast reply! Unfortunately I can't see any pencil icon in the client list... Looks like the ArcherAX50 is not offering this... pity :-/

I just checked the online emulator for the AX50 and there does not appear to be an icon. You might try the Tether app to see if you can do it that way.

Ahhh, finally! Thanks so much for your help! Yes, indeed, I see the pencil icons now as well: they appear in the Network Map BASIC settings, and I was always in the ADVANCED settings, where unfortunately there are no pencil icons.... ;-)
Thanks a lot for your help, this did the trick and I can finally rename all the anonymous IP and MAC addresses! Great!
