I have a RE450 as network extender and works great. My problem is that the optical fiber router provided by the operator works at 2.4GHz and connections between the router and RE450 are low speed. The simplest solution would be to install a second extender / access point at 2.4/5GHz connected to my main router via ethernet cable and to disconnect the part of the wireless router.

I do not want a third 5GHz router as an access point (router fiber ONT operator + router wifi 2.4GHz operator + 5GHz router). I would buy a second RE450 to use it as an access point connected to my main router but the TP-LINK RE450 can not works as an access point.

I'm wrong?

Maybe you can try AP500 of tp-link, which is ac1900 product.
