Archer C7 - Xbox Live Needs MTU Size = 1400
Model :
Hardware Version : Not Clear
Firmware Version :
ISP :
Issue: Xbox 360 would not connect to Xbox Live when connected to the router (wirelessly or using LAN cable). So, after trying everything else, the final step was to go to Network/WAN and change the MTU size from the default 1500 bytes to 1400 bytes.
Other steps I tried:
1. Enabling both NAT settings
2. Enabling UPnP
3. Set the Xbox 360 as a virtual server and opened ports 53, 80, 88, 1863, 3074, 3544, 4500, 5300,
4. Putting the Xbox 360 in the DMZ (note: the DMZ function appears not to work, the xbox was still making UPnP requests on port 3074)
5. Changing the DNS settings
6. Enabling Port Triggering
Xbox 360 attributes:
- Hardware: Archer C7 v1.1
- Firmware Version: 3.15.3 Build 150511 Rel.55816n
Other:
Location: Canada
DHCP: enabled, IP address reserved (192.168.0.XXX) for the Xbox 360
