Can't forward port on Archer D9

I can't get port forwarding to work on an Archer D9.
Firmware Version:0.9.1 0.1 v0041.0 Build 150826 Rel.42046n (new GUI)
Hardware Version:Archer D9 v1 00000000
NAT forwarding > Virtual server settings
internal port: 26000
internal IP: 192.168.0.12
external port: 26000
protocols: ALL
computer: fixed IP address (reserved via DHCP): 192.168.0.12.
no firewall.
external IP address is dynamic, in the 121.45.*.* range, I've tried accessing the port (via https://www.grc.com/x/portprobe=26000 and using the utilities provided at portforward.com) both after rebooting the router and not rebooting the router.
The internet service provider has a basic firewall (which doesn't block this port anyway) which i've switched off.
The computer is connected directly to the modem.
What else can I try, please?
