rcher C9 - 4.0.0 Build 20150811 Rel. 57338 - Manual channel settings problem
Model : Archer C9
Hardware Version : Not Clear
Firmware Version : 4.0.0 Build 20150811 Rel. 57338
ISP : n/a
Hi,
Just a heads up as I tried reporting via support email but got no joy.
I am a UK user utilising both 2.4 and 5Ghz signals.
I have manually set the 2.4ghz signal to channel 13 as this is the channel with no other local Wi-Fi users present.
To identify this I use both InSSIDer 3 and Acrylic Wi-Fi (Free version) on Wimdows 7.
On the previous firmware these sniiffers both show one aerial assigned to 5ghz and two assignd to 2.4Ghz,
When setting manually both the 2.4 Ghz showed as being physically and logically on channel 13 (InSSIDer show 1 aerail supporting b,g (54mbps) and b,g,n (216mbps),
Using the new firmware this same scenario show the b,g,n signal moves as expected to channel 13 but the b,g moves to channel 6!
Setting the channels to auto on 2.4ghz sets both signals to channel 1 (a very crowded channel locally).
I have tried to explain what it is that I think is wrong or at least would like an explanation as to the change in behaviour but have failed.
Thanks,
K
